Being a Powcaster by Royce San Antonio

7:52:00 AM

Being a member of Team Powcast is one of the best thing I've experienced. I learned many things from the team specially the head of Powcast Sports Mr. Paulo Salud.

Honestly, I didn't know anything about Powcast Sports. It was first introduced by Sir Paolo Manuel Fule who was already a member of team Powcast and also one of the teachers in my High School Alumni, University of Perpetual Help Molino Campus. He referred me to work on Powcast Sports for my Internship Practice last summer of 2016. I remember when I first talked to Mr. Paulo Salud through the mobile, I was scared because I knew I was talking to the head of the Powcast Sports and I thought Mr. Pow was strict. (because most of the boss was strict)

Going back to my experience as a part of Team Powcast...

When Mr. Salud told me and my co-interns that we will work at home, I was excited because the only thing in my mind was to work only in my house and I will control my own time. But, I was wrong about that. Instead, I need to be updated on all news about sports. I need to become first to the people when a popular issue about sports came out and that's how I learned to be in a media industry. In my first week on publishing article, I really had struggle because I was disconcerted to configure blogger.com which was the main source for publishing an article of Powcast Sports. I really got confused when time management go with my problem which was configuring blogger.com. As the days goes by, I finally got used of blogger.com and it made me only have one problem, and that was time management. In house, I always got lazy. If I had no class, I woke up at around 12 nn and that time was uncertain to the people who were waiting for a news. Usually, people reading news before they go to work or to school at around 5 am to 7 am. After that, the next time where people reading news was at around 9 pm onward when most of the people are at their house already. BUT, I tried and got succeed on time management because I got the "technique" on that. "We should practice on most of the things until we perfect" that's what they said.

My experience got wider and wider when Mr. Pow Salud assigned us the interns to go on different sports events such as basketball, MMA and boxing. I remember my first experience as a media of Powcast Sports, We covered the Manila Great Run in Filinvest Alabang Muntinlupa. There, we met Sir Emil Rebaño who was one of the official photographer of Powcast Sports. He was also a 4th Dan Judo fighter. He guided us on what we will do on covering the Fun Run.

On the Dame Time Manila, Sir Emil also guided me and Sean (who was also a intern). There, We learned a lot. Sir Emil advised us to go first on the chair infront so we could have a good place to shoot and to see Damian Lillard. Sir. Emil tought us also to be more competitive to the other medias on there. He said that we should don't care about them, what they will said to the beginners like us.

I remember also the night when UGB 15: Foreign Invasion held at Don Bosco Mandaluyong. Me and the other interns just witnessed first MMA fight because usually I only watched it on television. I felt nervous when action on the octagon ring was starts. I always feel that someone will knocked out or got injured. The feeling was different when watching it live and on television. It was more intense.

My nervousness got more intensed when we attended in Elorde Night of Champions 3 at the Mall of Asia Music Hall. First, I thought watching boxing live was boring. The first fights was not that boring and not that good but when the 3 last fights started, I became nervous because of the intensity of the matches. The hype of the crowd in the music hall fired up. All are shouting and screaming. Everyone were excited who will won the fight. The most memorable fight in that evening was the fight of Silvester Lopez and Danilo Peña. In the first rounds of the fight, All of the audience including me thought that Danilo Peña will gonna win the match because he showed how aggressive he was and his "Veteran moves". But, we just witnessed greatness, Silvester Lopez who was bruised closed, stand out and throw a series of blows on tired Danilo Peña. The referee stops the fight because Danilo Peña was really in a bad condition. You can see him very dizzy because of bunch of punches he received from Silvester Lopez. That time, the crowd were all shouting and screaming. What a game! I said. That was my very first boxing match I watched and I think the most memorable.

On our last events in Powcast Sports, Mr. Pow assigned me, Marcus and Sean to go to NBA Fit and NBA Care. There we saw Brandon Knight who was currently playing on Phoenix Suns and Coach Dee Brown who was a former Boston Celtics. They tought coaches and players from different colleges. I remember when I met Brandon Knight, I was in toilet in Trinoma Mall in Quezon City and wondering why there were many security guards waiting someone infront of the toilet and when looking at the mirror, I saw Brandon Knight taking pee on a cubicle. I saw him in the big mirror behind me looking to my rubber shoe which was Nike's Kyrie 2. In my mind, i was thinking maybe he remembered when he got ankle break by Kyrie Irving in the NBA Rookie Vs. Sophomore game. He keeps staring on my rubber shoes. When I was washing my hands I got shocked when he went beside me and wash his hand also. He stare at me, I saw that. I don't know why. I was thinking to took a picture with him as a souvenir but I didn't because the background was in the toilet and I don't want to be like that. My experience on that was already a souvenir that cannot be deleted or forgotten.

As a bonus, I like to show some pictures of me with the sports babes or models in some event that I attended as a media of Powcast Sports.

As a summary, my experience on being a part of Powcast Sports was memorable. It was amazing to be a Powcaster.

What punishment will NBA give to Stephen Curry?

10:34:00 AM
Stephen Curry on Game 6 2016 NBA Finals

CLEVELAND- It was a tough match between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors in the game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals in Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

In the 4:22 remaining in the 4th quarter with the Golden States trailing 99 - 87, season MVP Stephen Curry draw his sixth personal foul after reaching the ball from LeBron James. After the call, he argued with referee Jason Phillips and "accidentally" threw his mouthpiece at a fan sitting courtside near the Cavaliers bench.

The leagues reigning MVP cleared that the incident was not really his intention. He said. "I've thrown my mouthpiece before. I usually aim at the scorer's table. I was off aim. Definitely didn't mean to throw it at a fan," Curry added "That was obviously not where I was trying to take my frustration out."

Here are some popular incident in the league:

In October 2015, Clippers guard Austin Rivers was fined $25,000 for throwing a seat cushion into the stands and hitting a fan.

In December 2014, Utah’s Enes Kanter was fined $25,000 for throwing his mouthpiece into the stands.
Based on history, it isn’t difficult to surmise that Curry will likely receive – at the minimum – a $25,000 fine.

And the most popular, Haslem, in 2006 first-round game against Chicago, threw his mouthpiece in frustration toward referee Joey Crawford.

Like all on-court incidents, the NBA will conduct a investigation with Curry and determine if a fine or suspension is warranted.

See the video of Stephen Curry throwing his mouthpiece:
