What punishment will NBA give to Stephen Curry?

Stephen Curry on Game 6 2016 NBA Finals

CLEVELAND- It was a tough match between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors in the game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals in Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

In the 4:22 remaining in the 4th quarter with the Golden States trailing 99 - 87, season MVP Stephen Curry draw his sixth personal foul after reaching the ball from LeBron James. After the call, he argued with referee Jason Phillips and "accidentally" threw his mouthpiece at a fan sitting courtside near the Cavaliers bench.

The leagues reigning MVP cleared that the incident was not really his intention. He said. "I've thrown my mouthpiece before. I usually aim at the scorer's table. I was off aim. Definitely didn't mean to throw it at a fan," Curry added "That was obviously not where I was trying to take my frustration out."

Here are some popular incident in the league:

In October 2015, Clippers guard Austin Rivers was fined $25,000 for throwing a seat cushion into the stands and hitting a fan.

In December 2014, Utah’s Enes Kanter was fined $25,000 for throwing his mouthpiece into the stands.
Based on history, it isn’t difficult to surmise that Curry will likely receive – at the minimum – a $25,000 fine.

And the most popular, Haslem, in 2006 first-round game against Chicago, threw his mouthpiece in frustration toward referee Joey Crawford.

Like all on-court incidents, the NBA will conduct a investigation with Curry and determine if a fine or suspension is warranted.
